This group of vehicles makes up the majority of automobiles on the road and represents the highest operational volume for insurance companies.

X

5

25-year coverage, from 2004 back to 1980. In some cases we go back as far as 1974.

X

6

For ease of understanding, the vehicles are presented in sections of different components, e.g: bodywork (front, rear, middle, frames); mechanical (front and rear suspension, steering, brakes, transmission); interiors and accessories (A/C, exhaust, glass).

X

7

Includes part numbers and prices for the parts made in Mexico for the following vehicles: Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet, Renault, Nissan, Volkswagen, Honda, Toyota, Seat, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Mini and Volvo – both the "Retail Prices" and "Special Trade Prices" for agreements with insurance companies.

X

8

Includes part numbers and prices for the parts made by third party suppliers (such as Matz Autopartes) of original spares in the Mexican market, and also takes into account the different origin and quality of the parts.

X

9

Automatic calculation of the parts repair cost, based on the construction material, design, damaged area, and type, depth or extent of damage

X

10

Calculation of cost of replacing parts, without the user having to input hourly rates or disassembly and reassembly times.

X

11

Cost optimization in body and mechanical assembly, automatically referring to stored interrelationships between assembly and disassembly paths.

X

12

Calculation of cost of repainting parts, without the user having to input hourly rates or percentage assignation of time and materials.

X

13

The cost of paint is calculated specifically for the different refinishing systems and colors in use, such as:  lacquers, enamels, two- and three-coat finishes, regular colors, metallic, pearl, etc. This cost is optimized in cases where only a very small portion of the total part area is damaged, and it is not necessary to paint the whole piece, taking into account the blending recommended by the manufacturer.

X

14

All calculations are based on analysis of real inputs required for repairing, replacing and painting parts (labor, materials, equipment, tooling, outsourcing, shop overheads and profit margin, etc.) and not on pseudo equivalent time units. This is the main difference between an Expert System and a simple spreadsheet.

X

15

The technical criteria used in appraisal calculations are based on thorough exhaustive laboratory research carried out at CIDET, our own Technology R & D Center.

X

16

These criteria are incorporated into the system’s database and technical knowledge base and cannot be altered by the appraiser, who merely records the condition of the affected parts. In this way the manipulation of calculations is prevented and a true control of repair market prices is established.

X

17

Includes the particular policies of each user company for automatically deciding whether any parts should be repaired or replaced, in accordance with the service required for their customers and third parties. This removes the appraiser’s personal judgment from such a vital decision.

X

18

The system also supports insurance company senior management policies for selecting the suppliers to supply the parts, as well as their origin and discounts. This prevents the diversion of funds to unauthorized suppliers.

X

19

The economic conditions prevailing in each zone and location are taken into account, both for inputs (paint, materials, etc.) and for labor and spare parts. However, the system ensures uniform criteria and smooth operations flows countrywide.

X

20

For calculating labor costs, repair shops are categorized according to equipment, quality, service, etc.

X

21

The database, software and market conditions are updated automatically on a daily basis via our ValuaNet, our own digital private network.

X

22

At the end, a detailed appraisal report or query is available which specifies the work (replace or repair) to be carried out on each of the parts, and the cost involved.

X

X

23

A detailed spare parts purchase order report or query is also available, including part numbers, prices and discounts for parts sourced in Mexico, depending on the supplier selected according to each company’s individual policies.

X

24

The system offers an extensive variety of other financial and operational queries and/or reports.

X

25

Appraisers’ access to the different levels of information within the system is controlled by state-of-the-art fingerprint recognition.

X

26

Scores applied by appraisers are stored both as alphanumeric data and images, to allow for later review or technical audits.

X

27

The system allows for storing digital photographs for each claim, to support technical audits and as a complement to traditional files.

X

X

28

The system prevents alteration of financial results, discouraging and/or detecting the creation of interests other than those of the insurance company.

X

29

An electronic log records the daily operations of each appraiser, including the number of appraisals performed and financial results.

X

30

The financial results of the appraisals are calculated including disbursements made for other services covered in automobile insurance policies, such as:  medical expenses, towing charges, third part liability, etc. so providing better operational and administrative control of total claim costs.

X

31

The system establishes an effective control over payment limits authorized to each appraiser, automatically showing the name of the person or executive responsible for authorizing each settlement.

X

32

Total losses and salvage values are determined automatically by the system via the ValuaLoss module, based on the appraisal results, the vehicle’s commercial value and each company’s service policies.

X

33

The system contains a parallel expert module for appraising trucks and tractor-trailers in the Mexican market: ValuaTruck.  This system is an integral part of the service VALUADATA offers its users.

X

34

The financial results of the appraisals performed each day are automatically transferred to user company administrative systems, providing the basis for making provisions, paying suppliers and other typical administrative processes in the insurance sector.

X

35

And because analysis of results is as important as the performance of appraisals, country-wide information is gathered daily through ValuaNet, both for backup and to generate Statistical Analyses which are emailed weekly to all designated executives in the user companies.

X

36

The Statistical Analysis includes a thorough description of the financial aspects of claims, either by service station, appraiser, location, geographical region, vehicle brand, parts family, etc.

X

37

It also includes operational performance statistics recorded daily, monthly and six-monthly, by service station, appraiser, range of dates, location, geographical region, etc.

X

38

Special support is provided in the Financial Simulators, which allow user companies to simulate claims cost trends and performance using variations in market factors and so design their policies around specific strategies and objectives.

X

39

In order to ensure that the system is used to best advantage, our CIDET Research and Development Center offers an Intensive Training Program to train new appraisers or provide ongoing theoretical or practical technical training in areas such as: metalwork, paint, mechanics, appraisal, tractor-trailers, spare parts and repair shop market, as well as special seminars for insurance company executives.

X

40

Special technical support in the field is available to ensure optimum use of the system and respond to possible questions or concerns of suppliers.

X

41

Permanent support is available on-line, by telephone, or by ValuaNet email to answer any technical or operational question our users may have, or to remotely review and configure their equipment.

X

42

Weekly bulletins are issued to keep our users informed of changes made and implemented in their databases, which they can view directly on their systems.

X

43

Repair Centers are offered the CR-2000 Supplier Development Program which focuses on increasing productivity, quality and service standards at user company Support Shops.

X

44

Our database includes the salient details of over 3,000 repair shops and distributorships that we have surveyed, analyzing features such as infrastructure, organization, appearance, equipment, size, turnover, quality, service level, etc., and is available to our users via the CR-200 program, to support the selection and development of labor suppliers from a pool of potential vendors who are all familiar with and accept VALUADATA.

X

45

We also offer a system of remote video cameras for real-time observation, analysis and control of operational flows in Appraisal Centers throughout the country.

X

46

We provide technical support to help establish negotiations and special reciprocal agreements between automobile distributor associations or auto parts suppliers and the insurance companies.

X

47

We provide support in the purchase and setup of computer equipment and its ongoing maintenance, as an extra service to help our users fully meet their objectives.

X

48

We are present in 60 major cities in Mexico and our experience in the market dates back to 1986, since when over six million appraisals have been performed. Our customers make up 75% of the automobile insurance carrier market in Mexico.

X

49

We have a thorough knowledge of the Mexican automobile market and its peculiarities, thanks to our close relationship with manufacturers and suppliers of vehicles, auto parts, materials, equipment, etc. We are also thoroughly familiar with the requirements and needs of insurance companies, in both operational and control areas.

X

50

All changes and version updates due to the inclusion of new technology in the automobile database, repair processes, system programs or computer equipment, are already considered and offered automatically and transparently as an integral part of the service that VALUADATA offers its users.

X

51

Systems such as air conditioning, exhaust and vehicle glass are included independently for ease of operation in line with market realities, taking into account work which is subcontracted out.

X

52

Labor costs in VALUADATA include materials, paint, equipment, tools, inputs, operating expenses, profit margin, etc. We do not use global costs separated from the appraisal under headings such as: “Cost of additional materials and work.” VALUADATA is an authentic cost engineering solution.

X

53

ValuaCore, our remote centralized system for appraising accident-damaged vehicles, reduces operation costs and response times considerably. Now, for the first time, tools are available for managing the appraisal area and monitoring claims to closure, by means of on-line communication and interaction with repair shops and agencies.

X

54

Remote appraisal is performed using electronic transmission of digital photographs and appraisal results.
