Given the urgent need to upgrade the traditional, rule-of-thumb approach to vehicle body repair to a level of greater technology and professionalism, the VALUADATA Group of Companies has drawn on its extensive technical knowledge base and thorough understanding of the industry, gained over 16 years of supporting Insurance Companies and Auto Body Repair Centers, to create its Research & Technology Development Center (“CIDET”). “CIDET” opened its doors to the public on July 7, 1997 in Monterrey, Mexico, with the aim of promoting cultural change in the industry through the following concepts: EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH: Research into and analysis of technological developments applied to the design and construction of automobiles in the market, as well as methods and procedures, tools and equipment for their repair, and the diffusion of results to interested parties. DEVELOPMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE INDUSTRY: Development of proprietary knowledge and technology for application to vehicle repair procedures, establishing and defining working methods to guarantee quality, safety, and environmentally friendly practices in the vehicle repair market. “CIDET” provides the foundation for major change in the way repair centers in Mexico operate, by combining training aspects, automotive engineering technology development, computer engineering, communications and administrative controls to bring about a real change in the industry. Since opening to the public, “CIDET” has delivered technical training courses and seminar to over 2,000 students from both the insurance and body repair sectors.
